The Stage Coach Theater in Boise has played host to many classical plays throughout the years and this December it has the honor of hosting Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This holiday season you can witness the magic of this classic story right here in Boise. Experience the wonder of the Christmas Carol universe as Mr. Scrooge visits with Christmas past, present, and future and learns a valuable lesson about giving.

What better way to shake off the winter blues than with a warm hearted laugh? Jim Gaffigan, actor and comedian, is coming to Boise’s own Taco Bell Arena on December 11th to entertain us with his goofy jokes and silly antics. So, you better come ready to laugh.
Jim Gaffigan’s ‘The Fully Dressed Tour’ is here for one night only and tickets are on sale now. Doors open at 7:00 PM, the show starts at 8:00 PM.
The Nutcracker, December 16th, 17th, & 18th
The Morrison Center
If you have ever wanted to see Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker’, then this is your lucky day. Ballet Idaho is performing this classical ballet for 3 days this month at the Morrison Center with music provided live by the Boise Philharmonic. Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, December 12th
Football fans, get ready for the twenty year anniversary of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Watch two great football teams square off for the bowl championship right here on our beloved Boise State Broncos blue field. It is a time when thousands tune into the “Smurf Turf” to watch some good old football during our chilly December weather. Tickets are on sale now so be sure to get yours before they are gone!
The Idaho Potato Drop, December 31st
Idaho Capitol Building
This last event on our list is a great way to end the year and ring in the new one with a bang. You see, unlike New York which drops a ball on New Year’s, we here in Boise, drop a potato. It really is a massive community festival coupled with fireworks, food trucks, music, and so much more.
Come down to Capitol Park on the night of December 31st to ring in the New Year with your fellow Boise residents and visitors. Admission is free as far as we can tell, unless you want to go in the VIP tent. In which case you will need to buy tickets from the Idaho Potato Drop website.
