October Events in Boise

Fall is officially upon us and we here in the Treasure Valley are about to be surrounded by fun activities to take part in. From harvest festivals to Halloween celebrations, there is plenty to do throughout the month of October. However, despite the vast array of thousands of awesome new events going on all around the valley, we have come up with 6 of the ones we think you’ll find enjoyable. Be sure to mark your calendars and check them out before you miss them!

The Farmstead Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch

Oct 1st through Oct 28th, 1020 S. Rackham Way, Meridian, ID 83642

For many people in the Treasure Valley, the month of October is not complete without a trip to a corn maze or two. And, while there are multiple corn mazes in town, one of the most popular has to be the Farmstead Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch. This autumn attraction is a wonderful way to enjoy all the traditional fall activities you’ve come to expect. They have the maze, an awesome pumpkin patch, food, farm animals and more.

The Farmstead is open from October 1st to October 28th giving you only a limited window of opportunity to go and enjoy this great Boise tradition.

Fall Harvest Festival

Oct 7th and 8th, Idaho Botanical Gardens:  12:00 PM to 6:00 PM

On October 7th and 8th, from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM at the Idaho Botanical Gardens, is the annual Fall Harvest Festival. This exciting event brings together everything you could want out of a harvest festival: music, great food, amazing beverage choices, and so much more.

Tickets range in price from $5 to $7 depending on age and whether or not the attendee is a ‘Garden Member’. Tickets are available online as well as at the front kiosk at the entrance of the event.

Walkabout Boise

Saturdays Oct 1st through Oct 28th, Downtown Boise

Walking tours of downtown Boise are a great way to spend your time this October. It allows you to take in the sights all around Boise and learn more about the different parts of the city. These tours are a fun time for all and can be booked by calling the number on their website.

A tour is held every Saturday from October 1st through October 28th so there are plenty of times available for you to enjoy this great city we live in.

Fall Flights

Fri, Sat, Sun Sept 22nd through Nov 4th:  2:30 PM

World Center for Birds of Prey

f you like Birds of Prey, then you had better make plans to come check out Fall Flights at the World Center for Birds of Prey just outside of Kuna. It is an amazing opportunity to watch the majestic birds at work as handlers fly them outside to show off their skills.

These events will be held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:30 PM (with a few minor exceptions) from September 22nd to November 4th.

Craft Bazaar

Oct 21st, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM:  Wright Community Congregational United Church of Christ

If you love crafts then the Craft Bazaar at the Wright Community Congregational United Church of Christ is the place to be! There will be hundreds of different crafts being made and sold by congregation members during the morning and afternoon of October 21st (4th Saturday of the month).

According to their Facebook page, some of the crafts that will be on sale include (but are not limited to) jewelry, glasswork, baked goods, holiday items, and so on.

Boo at the Zoo

Oct 28th, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM  Zoo Boise

If you are looking for a great way to enjoy the spirit of Halloween, then you should definitely check out Boo at the Zoo held on Saturday the 28th of October at Zoo Boise. According to their website there will be costumed characters, lots of candy, costume contests, photo ops, face painting and so much more. All of the proceeds from which will be going back into the Zoo for needed improvements.

There will also be special Boo at the Zoo pricing, so be sure to mark your calendars for this one!
