Monthly Archives: April 2016
With the change in season, it is hard to not get excited about all the events and activities that are to come. May is a traditionally a great month for fun and exciting activities in the Treasure Valley and this year sounds like it will not disappoint. Check out these awesome looking events and be sure to mark your calendar before it’s too late!
May 3rd – 5th
If you are a fan of the theater, then you need to see ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ this month. Join the Treasure Valley and the Morrison Center in welcoming one of musical theater’s most beloved stories. It is a fun show that will have you singing along before the curtain closes. It is a show like no other. In fact, you could even call it, amazing.
Knitting Factory (18 years of age and above only)
Cinco de Mayo may be a traditionally Mexican holiday, but it is widely celebrated here in the States as well, including Idaho. Among the many celebrations that you can enjoy on the 5th of May, there aren’t many that will compare to the Knitting Factory’s Salsa Celebration.
Starting at 8:00 PM the Knitting Factory will be transformed into a Cinco de Mayo paradise with food, music and fun. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the music provided by DJ Giovanni while sipping on your favorite beverage (bar drinks will only be sold when ID is presented).
This wonderful activity is for the kid in all of us, even though it is mainly marketed to children. It is a great opportunity to see the animals of Zoo Boise without large crowds. The event allows you a chance to interact with the animals and even spend the night in the zoo itself.
The Snooze at the Zoo only happens four times a year, so if you want to participate, get your tickets now.
7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Yard and garage sale season is upon us so it time to start bargain hunting. Instead of taking the time to search for great deals however, why not just go to Idaho’s Largest Garage Sale down at the fairgrounds. This amazing event allows people and local businesses to come and sell their wares in a garage sale setting but without the hassle of doing it in their own yard.
Entry to the event is pretty reasonable, and the stuff that you find will definitely make it worth your time.
Celtic Woman is a show that needs no introduction and is one that we here in the Treasure Valley area are proud to have! This quartet of beautiful voices brings the sweet Celtic sounds of their homeland on tour and play in some of the most reputable cities in the world. They have been featured on PBS and other television syndicates for years and have released numerous albums.
If you have ever wanted to see these women live, then this is your opportunity. Check out the Morrison Center’s website to get your tickets today!
Now, this only represents a fraction of the activities that you can participate in during the month of May; so, keep a look out for more great stuff to do. Whether you are looking to take in a show, meet some animals, or have yourself a good time, you won’t come away disappointed.
Remember also to stay tuned for next month’s event calendar to find out what amazing things you can enjoy during the month of June!

Rodeos are a core part of western history and culture and they continue to be events for communities to rally around. This traveling event is making its way through the west with stops in places like Redmond, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; and, of course, Nampa, Idaho. While here they will hold several different competitions like Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, and so forth. It is a two day event like none other with stakes, and payouts, that are as high as ever.
